As a note, I've got no problem with any of the ideas presented, I'm just saying what I would think during the situation. The study would likely be without windows and would have books on books on books. Also hidden passages behind bookshelves

What kind of millionaire goes without a secret passage in the library, like some sort of pauper?

Only riff-raff go without at least 3 secret ways for a murderer to escape undetected. Exactly! Otherwise the murderer you hired could get caught, and then your entire tangled web of lies and political intrigue would completely fall apart.

I have to say here Mosea, you seem to be hinting at some things with your character...

So the group has just been attacked with a pickaxe thrown from a room that is, by all appearances, empty. This in a house supposedly haunted by a ghost who carries a pickaxe.
Make of that what you will.

Hey, did I inadvertently write Silver (Ceffy's character) out of this RP?

Hey, did I inadvertently write Silver (Ceffy's character) out of this RP? Perhaps. Silver still needs a reason to go outside and get lost, and the legitimate reason list is getting pretty short, considering the storm is here. On the other hand, Ceffy tends to have periods of not posting, so that may be at least part of the reason we haven't heard anything.

So how do we want to proceed from here? Should we carry on with Clay thinking that there are hitmen after him, and the others thinking that there's a ghost or maniac after them? Or should they meet up?

Well, they'll have to meet up eventually. And if they keep up with the "trying to kill each other" bit for too long, someone may get upset afterwards.
So, do we want this arc to be focused on just them all meeting each other? Do we want to do much character development now, or wait til later?

I suppose my concern is that, once this "conflict" is resolved, I'm not sure what else there would be to do. Explore the secrets of the place, maybe? That would be something up Clay's alley.
Characterization is fine; we don't need an epic quest or a life-and-death struggle to do that. But it seems to me that there still needs to be something going on to drive that interaction - some goal that they're trying to meet, however minor a goal it is, even if they don't all have the same goal at the same time.
