Name:
Willow Burr
Sex:
Female
Age:
38
Species:
Earth Pony
Job:
Lawyer by day, bartender by night. The roles occasionally cross-pollinate.
Skills:
Drafting contracts, writing partnership agreements, conducting legal research, mixing drinks, reasoning with drunkards
Personality:
Willow likes to listen more than she likes to talk, but she enjoys a good conversation. She values hospitality and making ponies feel comfortable, whether in helping to negotiate deals or serving up drinks at her bar. However, she likes to think that she is "above it all" and may come across as aloof if not arrogant at times. Though she may seem friendly at first blush, it actually takes a while for her to actually consider anypony her friend. Naturally, she takes Dram Shop Acts very seriously, and even where they aren't in effect she takes a firm demeanor when a pony has had too much to drink, and is not afraid to buck them out of the doors.
Bio:
Willow was born to two successful Tall Tale entrepreneurs--a unicorn wainwright and an Earth pony restaurant owner. Somewhat of a late bloomer, she got her cutie mark during her parent's divorce when she served lemonade to her parents during a heated debate over how to distribute the property and even suggested a fairer way to divide the property after reading a little on family law. Her father's lawyer immediately took her in as an apprentice, which did not last long since she was more interested in dealing with property than handling personal relationships. After working in her mother's restaurant for a year (where she first learned many of her drink-mixing skills), she found another lawyer to study under which lasted for six years. She then attended Studford School of Law in San Flankcisco for two years, working at various bars to pay for tuition--by that time both her parent's businesses had gone under. After being admitted to the bar, she worked as counsel for a Vanhoofer construction company, mostly arranging contracts for building materials and design. She married a civil engineer but the relationship only lasted three years, producing no children. She has not remarried since. After the company downsized she got a bartender's license in her own right and moved to Winter Haven to set up an independent practice and a bar.
