So, I thought that while we wait for everyone to get in and settle down, I'd start off the first Pony RP Discussion thread.
I think the biggest thing we need to discuss is how to keep the flow of the RP going. We had problems before where the RP would lag behind and people would get tired and bored with it and leave the RP. So I think that in order to keep the pace up, we should nominate a GM (Game Master) or ST (Story Teller) for one story arc. If you've ever played a tabletop RPG, you know how this works. The ST has a story arc that he wants to do, and then the player goes along with their characters. We'll all take a turn at the ST's seat.
What do you guys think?

I think that's a fairly good idea honestly. It's how we did it on Exile and it worked fairly well for a long time. (dat Eris arc [and the gender swap arc]).
What DOESN'T need to happen is a bunch of factions that only play with each other. Lackwit's family of characters were horrible because they only played with each other so VERY often

Let's leave it DM. It's an easier term, and well established.

There needs to be a balance of moving slow enough for busy people to keep pace but fast enough to keep everyone's attention, and that requires communication. Anyone having problems with the pacing should voice that as soon as possible if you want to keep this RP going.
Also, I just joined the forum for funsies; this doesn't guarantee I'll participate. I'll let you guys know if I want in once I see the story arc you have planned. I don't want to sign up blindly and end up having to play a serious character in an alternate universe Equestria complete with robots, Nazis, and Nazi robots.

Well, I was hoping to keep the RP as close to the show as possible. Also, only a select few people are being invited to this, mainly the former Exile RP gang and one or two people whom I feel would greatly contribute to the RP and will be on board with doing RPing that'd stay close to the show. However, if you want to have a story arc that involves Nazi and Nazi Robots, then I guess we can accommodate you.

Well, we have one character already who's a total gayslut, any my character will likely be something of a drug dealer, so we're going to have a bit of distance from the show from the starting gate.

Dude-slut and Drug Dealer, tonight on NBC. What's funny is that I'm (and Xim) is actually watching NBC's to Catch a Predator on YouTube.

Dude-slut and Drug Dealer, tonight on NBC. There it is. [Insert Town Name Here]. A more wretched hive of scum and villainy you'll never find anywhere else.

Dude-slut and Drug Dealer, tonight on NBC. I'd watch it. I can't decide if it's an episode of a Dateline-esque late-night news show, or some kind of "unlikely-buddy-vigilante" show.
