Coin followed Chiselle into the study, and cautiously looked around. "This looks like a reasonable spot to put up camp. Whoever threw that pickaxe is no longer in here. But I don't see any obvious entrances other than the one I just came in, so there must be a secret passageway of some kind."

"Well, before we start poking around the house, looking for trap doors and such, we should probably get a fire going and take a look at our provisions." Chiselle unloaded the saddlebags from her back onto the floor. "As you can see," she said pointing out the window, "the storm is still raging on, so we may need to take stock of what we have and what we need to survive until we can get back to our respective homes."

"Maybe this wretched pile of wood has a kitchen somewhere."
Page meandered into the room, finally managing to smooth his mane back to normal.
"Expired food is better than no food."

Following his failed attack, Clay retreated up the hidden passage until he found another exit. He rolled a display case out of the way and stepped into the corridor. He pushed the display case back into position. They know I know they're here, he thought as he moved down the corridor. That means they're going to be a lot more careful. That means I need to be a lot more careful. Ahead was a staircase that led both up and down. Windows gave meager illumination to the balcony upstairs; the lower level was completely without light.
Clay decided that the darkness gave him an advantage - he could stay quiet more easily than a large group could stay quiet. Carefully, quietly, he descended, keeping his ears open for hoofsteps or whispers.

Digitalis opened his trunk. "I have, let's see..." he said, pushing aside a scrapbook, "... a few snack-size bundles of hay, a bag of daisies, a can of assorted nuts and seeds, one bottle each of orange juice and apple juice, a small tart my grandmother sent for Hearth's Warming, and maybe two mouthfuls of water." He removed a small wooden box, painted with flowers. "And my medicine chest, containing assorted medicines, a few first aid supplies, odds and ends. Not much that's incredibly useful, all things considered."

"I have a box of Heartswarming cookies." Flux said, filling the room again with light. "Glad I bought them back at the shop."
He walked over to the fireplace that took the center of the room. "I'm no mason, but the fireplace looks secure." He held a hoof up inside of the firebox. When he didn't feel and air moving, he slipped off his pack and slid up under the chimney. "Well I AM seeing light up there. I don't know how it's still functional, but it is." He slid back out, slightly grimier for the act, and smiled at the group.
"If only we had a goose here."

"Well, I got a bottle of wine, milk, water, bread, green hay, and daisy heads. I also have my wood sculpting tools and a pair of mahogany blocks." Chiselle reported while shuffling through her bags.

"I didn't bring much with me, beyond a few bits." Coin sighed. "Still, I think this room will work well enough as a base camp. Do we want to stay here for the night, or do some exploring." "Also, why do you want a goose?" "Well," Flux said, pointedly ignoring the snark from a certain sculptress, "In old times, if a chimney got too dirty to safely use, the family would get a goose, tie a rope around its legs, and pull it down the chimney." Flux walked to his pack and tossed it onto one of the chairs near the fireplace. "As it went down the flue, it'd flap and struggle, which would clean the soot off the walls of the chimney." He pointed over his shoulder at the fireplace. "It's in good shape for as long as it's been here, but I'm slightly worried about a buildup of soot on the inside. Unfortunately we don't have a goose, though any creature that'd struggle if you pulled them down the chimney would... Hey Page, wanna have some fun?"

"Well, while you guys are trying to decide how to stuff Page down a hole, I think I'm going to try to find the kitchen and see if it has any cookware. I don't know about you guys, but I still plan on having the evening that I planned for."
Chiselle lit up her horn, which cast a silver light in the room. She then trotted out and down the hallway to try to find where the kitchen was.

"Hey, flannel. Wait for me."
Page wasn't sure if Flux was kidding about the chimney. So he followed after Chiselle.
"They better have tulips. I haven't had a tulip sandwich in a week."

"The tulips are probably all died and withered away by now. I think the only thing you're going to fine is moldy, stale bread, rotted fruit and veggies and I guess rotted cheese." The two ponies walked in silence for a bit. "You do realize that the doctor pony isn't gay right?"

I can whisper just the right sweet nothings in their ears, and turn them into putty in my hooves. I'm just good like that." He pushed his glasses up as they walked. "Pray-tell, why bring that up? You're not eyeing him too are you?"

"W-what I mean is, I've only met you a few times, and in the span of those few times, I've come to two conclusions. One, you are the biggest dork I've ever seen. Two, you are never going to get him into bed with you. He'd rather sleep with a cactus than you."
