A bunch of people walking home from the general store in the middle of a blizzard pass by an abandoned mansion and decide that a few hours inside is better than trying to get home in the storm. It's a lot more practical than the sawmill, I think.
Probably more for the characters to do inside, too.

Ahh, yea. We may have to rethink the sawmill. We still could do an old abandoned mansion that's on the outskirt of town. A mansion that is rumored to be haunted. Nah we just need to change the reason they get out there. I can imagine Flux helping chop firewood or something, but the rest will be difficult I think Xim & I got something worked out with our characters & how they end up at the sawmill.

So I think we should change the location from a Sawmill to a large cabin or vacation home. It'd still have to be abandoned and it'd still have to have some urban legends associated with it.

My only issue with this decision is that with Winter Haven being as small a town as it is, why wouldn't we just go home?

I figure pretty much the same thing, that the road has become impassable and visibility has gone to shit so the ponies seek shelter at the same location.

Coin lives at her store, but she isn't expecting the storm to come when it will. So I can give her a reason to leave (and then not be able to get home because of the intensity of the storm).

I'm sure I can whip up an excuse for Page to get stuck there.

Yea, it'd be easier for me to come up with a reason for Chiselle to be stuck in an abandoned vacation home than for me to come up with a reason for her to be at an abandoned sawmill.

Whatever the case, let's make it so

So this is something that has come up in RPs in the past with this particular group. Do we want to RP every minute, or do we want to do like a scene, and then do a screen wipe and start a new scene where we go forward a few hours or so?

Going minute-by-minute can be effective in many circumstances, but if you can tell there might be a lull where virtually nothing of interest happening for a while, feel free to cut ahead.
