"Oh thanks, I'm cleaning up my studio and I decided to replace some tools. These were hoof-crafted by a family of ponies outside of Ponyville. They're a bit old fashion, but they do quality work." Chiselle floated one of the chisel over to Nightwing, "Don't you just love the hoof forged steel?" Nightwing looked at the steel, she wasn't an expert and certainly saw little difference in the steel but who was she to say anything when she didn't know what difference to look for in the steel. "It's nice looking," she said with a smile. Her job wasn't in such tools anyways so it didn't really matter what she thought of it. Chiselle put the new tools back into her box and floated the box back onto her back. "Well I should get going, I hope you have a nice day Nightwing." She gave Nightwing a friendly smile and walked out of the post office and back towards her home/studio.

"It's perfectly safe," Steel said. "Look, I'll do it right now - hold on, we have visitors. Come on in, I'm in the back!" Flux made his way down into the lab. "Steel?" he called. "Buddy? You down here? Who uhh... who are you talking to?" "Ḧ̛̜̲̫̲͇́̈͂͛ͭͫ̕i̼̺͐ṋ̵̸͙̥̦̫ͩ̊͛ͫ͛̍̏̍͢c̸̶͇̠͕̣̬͛̈ͮ̓ͮ͢ ̲̳̩̳̂͢i̴͈͖͕͓̗͗̽ͧ̄ͨ̇͟ļ̥͇̖̟͛͞l̛͈̱̻̠̤̝̳ͧ̊̓̌ͮͨ͜͝a̜͇̬̬̫͉̍͡ē̫̩ͤ͗͑ͩ̃ͦͪ̚͢ ̵̪̙̙ͩ̽ͪͣ͠l̶͖̫̠͇̻̪̱̬̾̽͗͂͑͐̈ǎ̦̭̤̝̜̯̲̹ͫ̿͛c͇̟̫̭̫͛͞r̪̦͓͖ͪ͋̅̊̐̓͑͡ͅi̷̙̩͑ͧ͛́̚m̦̪͚̙̖͂̚͘a̞̝ͭ̄͆̓̌̚͘e̓̐̾̄ͪ҉̶̝͓͇." "Quiet, you." Steel trotted forth out of the darkness. "Flux! I was just discussing modifications to the de-winterizer with Belphegor. Come on in, there's tea."

"Flux! I was just discussing modifications to the de-winterizer with Belphegor. Come on in, there's tea." "Oh your... friend is here." Flux eased his way into the room, hoping to avoid the gaze of any demonic presence. "Great. That's just... great. Listen, if I'm going to be helping you out with your... problem here, I'm going to need to know what we're actually doing."

Steel led Flux over to a rough-hewn wooden table lined with blueprints and schematics. The table was a mess of spark plugs, copper coils, vacuum tubes, and a battered old tea set. Steel poured Flux a cup, and levitated his own from the table. "You take sugar? Cream? I take my tea with espresso." He trotted over to a complex piece of steaming machinery squeezed between a massive, old-fashioned tape-memory computer and an industrial metal press. The steaming machine produced a small amount of espresso directly into Steel's cup. "I have an inordinate fondness for caffeine," Steel explained.
Steel trotted back and laid out a map of town, with several areas marked. "I've identified these sites as the best locations for transceivers. If I transmit the control signal from here, or from any one of those locations, the transceivers would be able to blanket the entire region." Steel gestured toward the back. "That control signal would cause an implant I've surgically placed into the demon's brain to produce a mild but unpleasant electric shock. Speaking of which..." Steel raised his voice. "Belphegor, come meet our guest!"

He gestured at the map "So...do you think you can help me with those transceivers?" "Yes," Flux said hurriedly, grabbing every scrap of paper off the table that looked related to the project, and stuffing it into his pack. "Let's go back to my shop right now, and talk about this. I would like to be not here at this, or any other, moment."

She just hoped that it didn't rain that night; she was planning on doing some night flight. It's quite interesting to see the town from above during the dark. Seeing the lights from the houses and how they blend with the surrounding night.

Willow's ride with Autumn was a success, if a bit bumpy. She went inside her home-bar-office and trotted to her ice machine behind the counter and pressed the button, hoping she could cool down the drinks. But nothing happened except for the stir of the machine. "Oh, come on..." she said as she pressed the button again. Still nothing happened. Out of impatience she slammed the button and a stream of water splashed all over her right hoof. After shaking it off, she lifted the cover to the box and peered inside. Small pieces of ice were floating in a pool of water. She put the cover back on and turned to her directory of Winter Haven businesses. Under "Mechanics/Engineers" she found a pony going simply by the name of "Flux." After memorizing the address, she left the building and headed for Flux's place, taking the box of drinks with her--in case this one didn't mind his drinks a bit warm. -- Willow knocked on Flux's door. There was no answer. She couldn't find any business hours notice or even an "out on break" or "vacation" sign. But she figured that if he was out, he would be there soon. She could wait. After all, she set aside the whole day just to be patient.

"This would probably be the place to start with," Steel said as he and Flux approached the shop. Steel hmmmed. "This place looks familiar."
A pony was standing motionless outside of the door. Steel walked up. "Excuse me, miss, could you let us in? I'd like to install a radio transmitter on the roof to keep a demon bound to my will."

Willow did not realize she was standing in front of the door when the two ponies approached her. "Wh-Wha?" asked Willow in a bit of shock. "Uh, okay..." she said as she stepped aside. She stopped after a few steps. "Wait, there's a demon in Winter Haven?"

"Well, the workshop may actually fall outside the city limits, I'm not sure," Steel said. "But he'll probably be in town at least once a year to wrap up winter with a giant flying heat ray." Steel tried the door and found it locked. "Were you going to let us in? If you're interested in meeting Belphegor, by the way, I'm sure we can work something out. He's kind of shy though."

"Steel, this is where I work. This is MY shop. Excuse me miss, please forgive my friend here." He unlocked the door, and stepped inside, motioning for the others to follow. "Now then. Steel, have a seat over there for a moment and I'll be right with you." He turned to Willow. "Hello there miss. Sorry for the confusion. How can I help you today?"

Willow blinked at the idea that a potentially dangerous creature would be lurking in this small town--and apparently embraced by this absent-minded pony. She hoped that town hall knew about this. She nodded at Flux. "No problem... I suppose. Anyway, I'm Willow Burr, I run the new bar and law office that opened on Oak and Primrose. My ice machine broke down today--or at least last night, so I can't serve my drinks on the rocks. It'd be nice if you come down to my place, take a look at it, and give me an estimate." She then pulled up one of the mojitos from the box. "By the way, you wouldn't care for a free sample, would you? I'm offering 20% off on your next mixed drink if you try one," she said, smiling weakly.

Maybe later though." "Broken ice machine huh?" He opened his appointment book. "Let me find a place in my schedule for..." Flux stopped and looked into the middle distance for a moment. "Did you say bar and law office? Let me guess," he grinned. "You passed the bar, but liked it so much you decided to take it with you?"
